Introduction

Blink is a mobile application that captures a one-second video clip each day, then assembles your clips into a time-lapse year. The clips are stored on your device.

1. WHAT WE COLLECT

1.1 Stored locally on your device

Daily one-second video clips you record.
Clip metadata (date, optional label, optional tag).
App preferences and onboarding state.

1.2 Camera and photo library

Camera — used to capture each daily one-second video. Per the App’s permission text: “Allow Blink to use your camera to capture daily moments.”
Photo library — used to pick a moment from existing photos when you prefer not to record live. Per the App’s permission text: “Allow Blink to access your photos to select moments.”

Both permissions are optional. Without them you can still browse previously captured clips.

1.3 What we do NOT collect

No account, no login.
No name, email, phone number, contacts.
No microphone audio is recorded separately from the video clip itself, and no transcript is generated from video audio.
No location data despite some related libraries appearing in our dependencies; the app does not call any location API.
No advertising SDKs or advertising identifiers.
No third-party analytics SDKs.
No backend operated by us. The clips are stored exclusively on your device.
We do not sell, rent, or trade data.

2. BIOMETRIC NOTICE

A one-second video clip captured with the front-facing camera will typically include your face and voice. Although Blink does not transmit the clip off your device and does not perform any face- or voice-recognition processing, the clip itself is biometric content that lives on your device. Treat your device’s lock screen and backup settings accordingly.

If you choose to share a clip outside the App (e.g., via your operating system’s share sheet), you are solely responsible for what you share, including the privacy of anyone whose image or voice appears in the clip.

3. THIRD PARTIES

Apple App Store / Google Play Store — distribution. Platform store policies apply.
No other third parties. The current version does not call Rork, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, fal.ai, ElevenLabs, RevenueCat, Firebase, Supabase, or any analytics service, despite some related SDKs appearing in dependencies.

5. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Blink is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA without verifiable parental or guardian consent). We do not knowingly collect data from children. The App’s content is whatever you film; parental discretion is advised for users who are minors.

6. YOUR RIGHTS

Access: all clips and data are on your device.
Delete: uninstall the app to permanently delete all clips, or use the in-app delete for individual clips.
Withdraw consent for camera/photos: revoke permissions in OS settings.
EEA / UK: lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California (CCPA / CPRA): know, delete, correct, opt-out of sale/sharing (we do not), limit sensitive PI use, non-discrimination.

7. RETENTION

All clips, metadata, and preferences are kept on-device until you uninstall the app or delete them in-app.

If you have iOS or Android device backup enabled (iCloud, Google Drive), your clips may be included in the OS-level backup according to the platform’s rules. That backup is governed by Apple’s or Google’s privacy terms.

8. CHANGES

Material changes are communicated via in-app notice on the next launch.
