Effective Date: April 27, 2026 Last Updated: April 27, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the DotSense mobile application (the “App”) provided by Cankat Saraç (“we”, “our”, or “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
You may use the App in guest mode at any age that is appropriate for the app store rating in your country (4+ on Apple, “Everyone” on Google Play).
To create an account, you must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that age is higher (for example, 16 in some EU member states). By creating an account you confirm that you meet this requirement.
If you are accessing the App on behalf of a minor in your care, you agree to these Terms on their behalf and you are responsible for their use of the App.
DotSense is an educational tool that teaches the braille writing system. We do our best to present accurate dot patterns, letter mappings, and contractions used in Unified English Braille (UEB) and grade 2.
DotSense is not a certified braille curriculum, an accessibility device, a screen reader, an assistive technology device, or a medical, educational, vocational, or rehabilitative service. Lessons and progress in DotSense are not equivalent to a course of study at a school or accredited institution.
If you need certified braille instruction, contact a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), a qualified braille instructor, or a recognized organization in your country.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on devices that you own or control, solely for your own personal, non-commercial use, and subject to these Terms and the rules of the app store you obtained the App from.
The App and all of its content (including text, graphics, logos, icons, lesson structure, and software) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.
You may not:
The App stores your learning data (lesson progress, mastery, drill results, and similar) under your account. That data is yours. We process it only as described in the Privacy Policy and only to operate the App for you.
If you submit feedback, suggestions, bug reports, or feature requests, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that feedback to operate and improve the App. We are not obligated to act on any feedback.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these rules.
The App relies on third-party services, including Apple Sign In, Google Sign In, and Google Firebase. Your use of those services is also governed by the providers’ own terms. We are not responsible for those services.
If you obtained the App from an app store, the app store’s terms also apply, including:
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from a course of dealing or course of performance.
We do not warrant that:
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, in which case those exclusions do not apply to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the App.
Our total cumulative liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) US$10.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation of liability for certain damages, in which case those limitations do not apply to you, and our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.
To the extent permitted by law you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) your use of the App in violation of these Terms or applicable law, or (b) your violation of any third-party right.
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, if required by law, or if continued operation of the App would expose us or other users to material risk.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including sections 4 (License), 5 (Your Content), 8 (Disclaimers), 9 (Limitation of Liability), 10 (Indemnification), 12 (Governing Law), and 13 (General).
These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW JURISDICTION — to be confirmed by the operator before publication], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
You and we agree that the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to these Terms or the App, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property rights.
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction whose mandatory consumer-protection laws give you a right to bring claims in your local courts, those rights are not affected by this section.
If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply, and they prevail over any conflicting provision of these Terms:
