UNTOLD — PRIVACY POLICY

Introduction

Untold is a mobile application that helps you write two kinds of apologies — the kind you’ll send today, and the kind you’ll never deliver. The app uses an AI model to draft and refine apology text in several tonal tiers. This policy explains what data is processed and how.

1. WHAT WE PROCESS

1.1 Information you provide

The draft text of the apology you are composing (context, recipient description, what happened).
The tier selection (which emotional register you want).
Optional notes and bookmarks about saved apologies.

This text is sent to an AI text-generation service to produce the apology output. See Section 3.1.

1.2 Subscription state

If you subscribe to Untold Pro, RevenueCat receives transaction identifiers, subscription status, platform identifiers (Apple App Store or Google Play), and an anonymous RevenueCat user identifier. RevenueCat does not receive your apology drafts or any content from the app.

1.3 Information stored locally

Your saved apologies, bookmarks, and drafts.
App preferences and onboarding state.

All locally stored content remains on your device and is never transmitted to a server we operate (we operate none beyond what is described in Section 3).

1.4 What we do NOT collect

We do not require an account; there is no login.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, location, or any sensor data.
We do not use advertising SDKs or advertising identifiers.
We do not use third-party analytics SDKs.
We do not sell, rent, or trade data.

2. SENSITIVE CONTENT NOTICE

The text you enter into Untold often describes interpersonal harm — what you did, who you hurt, what you regret. This is sensitive content. You should:

Avoid including the full legal name, email, phone number, or other identifying details of the other person unless you must.
Treat anything you compose in the “never delivered” mode as private to your device. We do not access it after the AI generation call completes.

3. THIRD PARTIES

3.1 Rork Toolkit (AI Relay)

Your apology draft, context, and tier selection are transmitted to the Rork Toolkit AI relay endpoint, which forwards the request to an underlying large language model (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT, or Google Gemini family, depending on which is configured at request time). The relay returns an AI-generated apology that is displayed in the app and optionally saved locally on your device.

We have a service relationship with Rork; we do not have a direct contractual relationship with the underlying model providers. Refer to:

Per the published policies of these providers (current at the time of writing), paid API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models.

3.2 RevenueCat

3.3 Apple App Store / Google Play Store

5. YOUR RIGHTS

Access: All in-app data is visible to you in the app. We do not hold server-side copies.
Delete: Uninstall the app to permanently delete all locally stored content. Use in-app delete for individual entries.
Withdraw consent: Stop using the AI generation feature, or uninstall.
EEA / UK residents: lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA): rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale/sharing (we do not sell or share), limit sensitive PI use, and non-discrimination.

6. RETENTION

7. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Untold is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly process data from children. The content of apologies is often adult in subject matter (interpersonal harm, regret, conflict).

8. CHANGES

Material changes — particularly any change in the AI provider that receives your drafts — are communicated via in-app notice on the next launch.
